Ketorolac

Ketorolac (brand name: Toradol) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that relieves pain and reduces swelling. It is used to treat moderate to severe pain usually after surgery.

Oral Ketorolac should be used only after you have already used the injectable form of ketorolac. If you have been prescribed the oral form of ketorolac without first having received the injectable form, promptly consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Though it is very unlikely to occur, a severe allergic reaction is possible after taking the first dose (see Side Effects section–allergic reaction). The Canadian manufacturer of toradol states that it may be used instead of the IV form; i.e., your entire therapy may be with the oral form of toradol. Take this medication as directed. Do not increase your dose or take it more often than prescribed without your doctor’s approval. This medication is used for only a short period of time. The combined use of injectable ketorolac and oral ketorolac should not exceed 5 days. Take this medication with food, milk or antacids to prevent stomach upset. Take this medication with 6 to 8 ounces (180-240ml) of water. Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking this drug.
